Dr. Mimms is pleased to announce the 2022 Let The Strings Speak Concert will be back in the historical Langston Hughes Performing Arts institute.
This year’s concert will immerse you in the spirit of Africa by showcasing an array of local artists and the journey of healing music from Africa to America. The show will also be streamed Live for our audiences still at home or outside of Seattle on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 4pm PDT.
Mona & Lesa Terry have requested a sabbatical this year so they can focus on final preparations of their book honoring their uncle, musician, late Clark Terry.
The journey continues and we have many ways for all to participate and support the show with sponsorship, donations, program book ads and our Ripples in the Water campaign. The spirit of Africa will showcase an array of local artists and the journey of string music from Africa to America.
After 2 years of Covid and the exposure of the injustices present in our communities, I am thrilled to be back in the historical Langston Hughes Performing Institute. I am honored to continue to showcase local talent and provide an intergenerational experience for healing through music. Please join us!
